Villa Les Terrières is located in a quiet suburb of La Tranche sur Mer and is just under a 1km walk to the amazing long sandy beach at Les Terrières - perfect for sunbathing, surfing, sand castles and walking. This newly built holiday villa is only a short walk away from a bakery, bar, restaurant and within a 5 minute drive of the local supermarket. The main town of La Tranche sur mer is a 10 minute drive or 30 minute walk away, and here you will find lots of entertainment in the summer months - including weekly markets, street artists and bustling streets with restaurants and cafés, souvenir shops and ice cream parlours.

The Villa was built during 2019/20 and has been designed to a high-specification - with holiday makers in mind! There is an amazing large sunny terraced balcony overlooking the heated pool and another shady terrace on the ground floor.

Parking: The villa is set in a quiet road and has private off-road parking for up to 2 cars in front of the house.

First Floor: You enter the house from the front door that leads onto the first floor of the villa. Inside, there is an open plan lounge/ dining area and modern fitted kitchen with views out to the balcony and forest beyond the garden. There is a double bedroom with large en suite bathroom on this floor too.

Garden Level: Downstairs on the garden level, there are a further three bedrooms - one double bedroom with en suite shower room, one bedroom with bunkbeds, and a third room with bunkbeds and a cot (if required). There is separate shower room on this floor too. The double bedroom has patio doors out onto the shady terrace under the balcony. The washing machine and freezer are located on this floor too.

The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, large fridge, kettle, toaster and cafetiere. The dining table seats 8 guests comfortably and there is a high chair for younger children.

The lounge has two stylish leather sofas and two armchairs, plus a large flat screen Smart TV (you can connect your own Netflix/Amazon account), internet connection throughout and access on to the 10m x 4m balcony. This balcony is perfect for sunbathing, relaxing and dining and has direct access to the garden level via an exterior metal staircase. There is a large dining table on the balcony, with a BBQ, comfy chairs and parasols for a bit of shade.

The 6m x 3.75m pool is open and heated from May until the end of September each year. There is a wooden decked area underneath the balcony, providing a shady terrace - ideal for taking a break from sunbathing! The pool is 110cm to 140cm deep and has an underwater seating ledge at the shallow end. The garden area is 210m² in total.

The villa would also be suitable for guests with limited mobility, as there is a double bedroom, shower and toilet on the entrance floor (however, there would be a staircase or slope down to the garden level where the pool is located. (not suitable for wheelchair users)

All bed linens and towels (hand, bath and tea) are provided, but please bring your own beach/pool towels.

Pet dogs are not accepted.

Villa Les Terrières is located in the quiet suburb of La Tranche called Les Terrières! It is within easy walking distance of the beaches (although you may want to drive if you are taking a picnic and beach equipment with you) and is close to local shops and a great little pizzeria near the beach!

The area is a perfect place for family holidays - with lots of long beaches, water sports (surfing, sailing, kayaks and body boarding), cycle paths, karting tracks and lots of entertainment laid on over the summer months.

The area around La Tranche sur Mer is very flat (built on land reclaimed from the sea over 4 centuries ago) and very tranquille - lots of large open fields with sunflowers and maize growing, teeming with wildlife and ideal for country walks or cycling.

Within a 30 minute drive of the villa is the O'Gliss Water Park, the Château des Aventuriers treasure trail, the O'Fun Adventure Park and the Jardins du Court d’Aron at St Cyr en Talmondais - great for young children - with an area of young animals to pet, tranquil walks around the large parkland and lotus lake and summer shows with a tropical theme.

The Old Port of La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré are around an hours’ drive; here you will find a large pleasure marina, bustling shopping streets filled with local boutiques, harbour-side restaurants with al fresco dining areas and boat trips to the Ile d'Aix or Fort Boyard. The marina area comes alive in the evenings, with street entertainers, music festivals and craft markets in the summer.

Further afield is the Marais Poitevin Regional Park - a beautiful area of canals, ruined abbeys, and pretty riverside villages - a relaxing day out - punting on the waterways and exploring local history.

The 'Must See' attraction of the Vendée is the Grand Parc du Puy du Fou (80 minutes away) - with Gladiators, Vikings, Knights, Musketeers and a fantastic Bird of Prey show, not to mention the spectacular evening show with over a 1000 participants - you could easily spend two whole days here!

We had a fantastic stay. The house was very well equipped and clean.
We enjoyed having a HobyCat lesson in La Tranche, a day out at the Venise Verte and ate at L'Auberge de L'Abbaye which was lovely.
we had a very nice meal at La Cayola on the way to Les Sables d'Olonne for our wedding anniversary.
The kids enjoyed Finfarine (Beekeeping place that serves fantastic honey). The market at La Faute sur Mer is the best in the area, with lots of merchants.
We will re-book this place again!

What a lovely villa, very well equipped - thank you Jürgen & Sarah (owners). We loved the outside space. The teenagers enjoyed the pool and the outside 'speaker'!
We hired bikes from 'Cycles Bien Eric' - David was very helpful - good cycle routes.
Loved the pool and all of the pool toys which were provided. Also the sun loggers were amazing to catch a tan.
Martha & Harry enjoyed the wide variety of Xbox games.
