Holiday Home Description
The apartment has its own reserved parking space underneath the building and is surrounded by gardens laid out to lawns and flower beds. It is spacious and has a large lounge overlooking the gardens. There is a TV with French channels and a stereo. The dining area is next to the fitted kitchen and there are two good-sized bedrooms off of the hallway.
One bedroom has a double bed and the other has two single beds. A shower room and separate WC are also off of the hallway.
Wi-Fi internet access is now available at the apartment.
This apartment is in an ideal location for exploring one of the largest towns in the Vendée and is available throughout the year. The town is buzzing with activity in the summer, but also hosts many sailing events in the winter months - such as the world famous Vendée Globe round the world yacht race.
It is a 20 minute walk into the centre of Les Sables, or there are several buses that stop nearby. There is a large shopping centre only minutes away and a casino and zoo within 5 minutes walk.

Les Sables d'Olonne and the Local Area
The long, flat beach stretches for miles and is very safe for swimming and water activities. You can walk to the beach from the apartment, or drive to one of the other parts of this long beach. Cafes and restaurants are strung along the water front, so you are never far from refreshments.
The town itself is great for shopping and has an old covered market hall in the centre. There are several museums nearby and the area is famous for its sea salt production. You can visit Les Salines on the estuary, where salt is still made in the traditional way.
The Vendée has many tourist attractions, most within an hour of Les Sables - such as Karting Tracks, Golf Courses, sailing & fishing trips, wine tours, forest adventure parks and a chateau with a treasure trail. There are also many farms to visit - where you can taste the local honey, fruits, and meat products.
Further afield is the amazing Puy du Fou Theme Park - with its Gladiators, Vikings, Musketeers, Medieval Knights and Bird of Prey show. Not to be missed!
La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré are both popular tourist attractions, as is the Marais Poitevin network of canals and ruined abbeys.

70% Balance paid 8 weeks prior to the start date of holiday.
£100/€130 Security Deposit Cheque payable with final balance (returned within 2 weeks of end of holiday.)
Methods of Payment: Cheque or Direct bank transfer into UK or French Bank Account, in Sterling or Euros.
The House will be clean and tidy for your arrival, and it is expected to be left in the same condition, otherwise a portion of your security deposit may be withheld.
This is our 3rd year staying at La Marcellière, we love coming here! Iona and Barry have thought about all the little bits that make a self catering holiday so much easier, clingfilm, spare essentials, milk to get that first cuppa etc. The flat is in a perfect location, very quiet but a lovely 15 -20 mins stroll to the beach or into town or 5-10 mins walk to the big supermarkets. Needless to say, we will be back again.

The apartment is very spacious and very comfortable. All of the essential items are provided such as toilet roll, kitchen roll, tea bags and every kitchen implement you could ever need! The under apartment parking is fantastic as there is no worry about finding a space or your car being unbearably hot when you get in it. The beach is a pleasant 10 minute stroll but the main restaurants and bars are a good half hour walk away. There is a restaurant much nearer but we found the prices a bit steep. The area is very quiet so, if you don't mind walking or driving in the evening then this is a perfect place to stay.

Our third visit to the flat and just as good as ever. Clean, well-equipped, with lots of much-appreciated ''necessaries'' e.g.: cling film!!
Beach remains stunning. Saturday evening entertainers on the front are great fun. Cheapest fuel up by MacDonalds and the Geant supermarket! We'll be back for a 4th visit.
