La Launière Holiday Villa, Cheffois in the Vendée
La Launière Holiday Villa is situated in a quiet little hamlet in the beautiful Vendée countryside, yet is only a 5 minute drive to the pretty village of Cheffois, or 10 minutes to the larger town of La Châtaigneraie, where you will find lots of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and a weekly produce market.
The villa is set in a mature garden of around an acre in size and has a 12m x 6m heated swimming pool and a large lawned area that is perfect for playing badminton or relaxing under the shade of the apple trees. The garden is securely fenced on all sides and is not overlooked by any neighbours.
La Launière has been extended over the years and is now laid out as a large four bedroomed holiday villa, with sun terrace and al fresco dining area.
TV Lounge: The villa has separate large TV lounge, leather sofas, 42inch TV with UK channels, plus the added bonus of a bar area (with fridge and ice maker. There is direct access to the sun terrace from the TV lounge.
Lounge and Dining Room: The main lounge has several sofas, a reading library and leads on to the dining room, with its large table for 8 guests. There are also two sets of patio doors that open out on to the sun terrace, where you will find a further dining table and chairs, plus a charcoal barbecue.
Kitchen: The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle & toaster. A washing machine is available in the garage.
Bedrooms: There is a ground floor bedroom (suitable for guests with limited mobility) with direct access to the sun terrace. This room has a double bed, built in wardrobe and chest of drawers. Upstairs, there are three further bedrooms: two have two single beds each (plus, built in cupboards), and the third one has a kingsize bed and plenty of storage space. All of the bedrooms overlook the swimming pool and all have electric shutters to keep the rooms dark at night and cool during the day.
Bathrooms: There is a ground floor shower room with shower cubicle, hand basin and WC, and on the first floor there is a bathroom with full-sized bath, overhead shower, hand basin and a separate WC. There is a further WC on the ground floor.
Games room: One of the garages has been converted into a small games room, with a table tennis table, pool/snooker table and dart board.
Outside Space: All of the ground floor rooms open out onto the sun terrace overlooking the swimming pool. Here you will find a covered veranda, with a dining table and chairs, plus BBQ. The pool area is securely fenced off for the safety of young children, and on the surrounding terrace you will find a selection of sun loungers and parasols, plus a built in BBQ. The pool is 1.2m deep at it's shallow point and 2m deep in the centre and there are steps down into the pool.
Parking: The villa is set back from the quiet road and has an electric gate for added security. Beyond the gates is a large parking area for up to 4 cars.
Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome at La Launière Holiday Villa.

La Launière and Cheffois
La Launière Holiday Villa is set in a beautiful part of the Vendée - with lots of country lanes to explore, or pretty villages and small towns with medieval castles. It is within a 10 minute drive of La Châtaigneraie where you will will be able to stock up on lots of local specialities at the weekly market, or visit the many supermarkets, restaurants or cafés.
For days out, you will be spoilt for choice! Within an hour, you can visit the amazing Puy du Fou Theme Park, wander through the streets of the old town in Vouvant - a 'Petit Cité de caractère', hire a kayak on the lake at Mervent or visit the Natur'Zoo in the forest.
The Old Port of La Rochelle is only an hour away - a perfect place for al fresco dining in the harbour-side restaurants, street entertainment or taking a boat out to visit the Ile d'Aix.
For a more relaxing day trip, you could visit the Marais Poitevin, with its network of canals and ruined abbeys to explore.
The beaches of the Southern Vendée are only an hour away - and you will find a beach for all tastes - whether you want to surf, sail, body board, explore rock pools, build sandcastles or just relax in the sun.

This holiday property is located in a commune (village or town) that charges a tourist tax to all paying visitors over the age of 18 years old. The tax helps local communes finance advertising, marketing, events, and initiatives to develop tourism.
The tax is paid per person, per night basis, and the charge varies depending upon whether the property is Classified (Star rated by an official organisation) or not. The charge is typically set between 0.40€ and 4.20€ depending upon where the commune is located and the classification level.
