Le Gite Tranquille Holiday Home is situated in the hamlet of La Jousselinière and is the ideal location for guests wishing to get away from it all. The area is peaceful, and the house is looks towards a large orchard with many mature cherry and walnut trees. The property owners live next door in the attached house, and often invite guests to sample their home made liqueurs whilst offering advice on where to visit.

The ground floor of the house is open plan, with a large dining table, corner lounge with TV (UK & French channels) and fully fitted kitchen. A utility area and separate WC are located off the kitchen.

The house has Wi-Fi internet access and caters for young children - with a cot, high chair and stair gates.

Upstairs, there are two bedrooms - a double bedroom with en suite shower room, and a twin room with en suite bathroom.

Outside, there is a private garden area for guests to use - with tall hedges all around. There is a barbecue, some sun loungers and a seating area for relaxing. Guests have full use of the large orchard - which is a great place for picnics or playing ball games. There is also a boules court & table tennis.

There is plenty of off-road parking available.

La Jousselinière is a small hamlet surrounded by fields and forests - a great place for walkers and cyclists! The nearby towns of Chantonnay and Sainte Hermine have several bakeries, restaurants and supermarkets and many of the villages have small restaurants - popular for their lunch time menus.

The beaches of the Southern Vendée are about 50 minutes away - and here you can learn to surf or body board in the big waves at Les Conches, or just relax on the soft pale sand at La Fate sur Mer. Most of the seaside towns have entertainment laid on throughout the summer months - many with music festivals, fairgrounds or firework displays.

The area has many tourist attractions for all ages - there is a zoo and traditional amusement park in the forest at Mervent, or kayaking on the lake. The medieval village of Vouvant is interesting - with its artist colony displaying their canvases in the streets and their workshops.

Further afield, there is the Marais Poitevin - the famous Venise Verte - with its network of canals and several ruined abbeys to explore. A relaxing day out!

The Puy du Fou Theme Park is only 40 minutes away - with its Gladiators, Vikings, Musketeers, Medieval Knights and Bird of Prey show. Not to be missed!

La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré are both popular tourist attractions and have many harbour side restaurants serving freshly caught seafood.
